Dear Family,
Well I could tell you that Tuesday was an interesting day. Tuesday night we were having dinner with the family that I skyped you guys from. Yeah so we were heading over to their house for dinner and as we were heading to their house a deer jumped out in front of us. We hit the deer and we got super lucky. We only got two little dents in the car, a crack in the left headlight, and the deers tail. I was in the front and I was in shock for the rest of that night. When we got to dinner we were making a lot of deer jokes with the mom.
We had a lunch/lesson with the less active that wants us to be teaching her daughter. We showed them "Always Remember Him" by Jeffery R. Holland. After we got done watching it the mother told us that she has been reading some of her journals and recognized satan stopping her from coming to church and heading to the temple. We told her that we would love to help her get the the temple and come back to church!
We had a lesson with One of the less active members that we have been working with since I got out here. When we were in the lesson he told us that there is no satan. It has gotten to the point where we don't know what to teach and help him come back to church.
We had exchanges this week with our sister training leaders that are serving in Broomall. I got to go to Broomall with one of the sister training leaders and the other one joined my other companions. When I was in Broomall we tried to see a less active member (the member is in the sister training leaders Ward and is worried about her daughter and asked them to stop by her daughters house). So we stopped by the house. The mother of the less active and the granddaughter was there. So we talked to them for a little bit and showed them the "Because of Him" video. The granddaughter is in Girl Scouts and gave us free Girl Scout cookies! I got the thin mints and they were yummy! Then after we talked to this family we went to our dinner appointment. There is this one family in the Broomall Ward that signs up every Thursday and invites a less active, recent convert, or a investigator and then they have dinner together and then have a lesson. We talked about the Sabbath Day but it was hard to get through the lesson because the members would go off into a different topic. But at the same time it was a really fun dinner.
On Friday we had Zone Conference. We got to take zone pictures with President and Sister Anderson before it started! They talked about a lot of stuff at the zone conference. They told us the mission theme this year which is "Learn It, Live It, Share It". We also did a role play of contacting someone and getting to know them and setting up an appointment with them, then a bit of weekly planning for that person, then the end of the lesson with that person. It was a fun role play. President Anderson listened to our role play when we were finishing up the lesson and he said that it was one of the best role plays he has seen.
Yesterday we only had one hour of church. It was raining and some of the roads were closing because the rain was freezing over. We got a ride to church with member that we live with. Not a lot of people came to church because of the whether conditions. But we still had a decent amount of people come. Well I hope that you guys have a wonderful week! I love you all and have a fun time! Love, Sister Paige Bluemel
