Dear Family,
I have been out for a month how crazy is that. For thanksgiving we really didn't do much. We had like 5-8 appointments but only made it to three. By the end of the day I was really sick of eating food. We even got to help a member put up her tree. It was less work then the one mom puts up. I can Skype you guys on Christmas Day and Mothers Day. So you guys can start planning ahead for that.
The weather here is a lot like Colorado weather but since there is humidity it gets a little bit cold. People here are also bad drivers. It's kind of like Utah driving. The district meets are fun the district leaders do a lesson then we do have a role play. Getting use to being a full time missionary is getting easier everyday. We got to go to Philly today. We saw thePhiladelphia Temple, ate lunch, and some other stuff around Philadelphia. I feel like a tourist today... I probably am one. We didn't take our car to Philly because we have limited miles. We took the Septa train which is like the trains in Denver or Salt Lake City. The train is not that bad to be honest and it's kind of fun. When we went to the temple we went to the visitors center they have for the temple. Well the sister missionaries that are working at the visitors know the Peterson's. They said that they talk about me a lot.
We contacted a referral that we got from our patriarch (the patriarch that is in the stake I'm serving in is in my ward). He was contacted by the missionaries about five years ago. They had to drop him because he wasn't progressing. He told us that he was interested in learning more about the church and also had some questions. We visited members throughout the week (obviously). Since it was thanksgiving week we showed all the members a thanksgiving Mormon Message. Then we had them write on a piece of paper what they were thankful for. Then we took a picture of the whole group with there signs then my comps would post it on Facebook (I don't have one yet because we have to do this thing could a D.I.E.T and it involves us memorizing scripture, reading, etc). They have a lot of rules for Facebook. Sometimes we would show them the "He is the Gift" video and we gave them a pass along card and encouraged them to share it. Love, Sister Paige Bluemel
