Sacrament Talk March 22, 2015

Here is the talk I gave yesterday during sacrament. I didn't say
everything in it word for word. But it's pretty much an outline of
what I talked about.

Talk-March 22, 2015
Missionary Work

Something I have come to realize since I have been out on my
mission is how important it is to be a missionary whether I'm a full
time missionary or not. A couple of days before I enter the missionary
training center in Provo, Utah I put a post on my Facebook page that
was related to getting ready to leave for my mission. A couple of
minutes after I made this post a friend of mine from high school
called me. We talked for a little bit and during this conversation she
told me that when I get home she wanted to learn more about the
church. I remember having little conversations with her during school
about what we believed in. Because I had these conversations with this
friend she has shown interest in learning more about the church. I
know that you as a members of this church go and talk to your friends
about the gospel they to will show more interest in learning about the
gospel. This is one way that you can help out with the missionaries.
As it says in TRUE TO THE FAITH under Missionary Work "When we
experience the blessings of gospel living, we naturally want to share
those blessings with others." As a member of the church I have seen
blessings come into my life and I have also received happiness too. As
I think of the blessings and the happiness that the church has given
me in my life I often think that others deserve to receive those
things like I have in my life.
David A. Bednar said in the October 2014 general conference
"Devoted disciples of Jesus Christ always have been and always will be
valiant missionaries. A missionary is a follower of Christ who
testifies of Him as the Redeemer and proclaims the truths of His
gospel."
Recently, a  good friend of mine wrote me. In her letter she
talked about how she has been going out to lessons and teaching with
the sister missionaries that are in her ward. She mentioned how much
she loves going out with them and how awesome it is. I am grateful for
my friend because she is being an example to me. She is finding the
time to help out with the missionaries in her ward.
As a missionary you realize how big a part the members of the
branch or ward are in the work of the area you are in. Before I came
out here I didn't think much of how important I am as a member in
helping the missionaries that are in my home ward. Now I learned and
notice how important members are in teaching, finding, and other
things that missionaries do. As a member you are a missionary to even
though you aren't wearing the badge. Like what David A. Bednar said
"Devoted disciples of Jesus Christ always have been and always will be
valiant missionaries."
In Doctrine and Covenants 4:1 it says... (Read from your
scriptures)... Missionary work is this marvelous work because we are
helping the Children of God come closer to our Heavenly Father and
Jesus Christ. It is such a blessing to be apart of the marvelous work
of missionary work because being a missionary whether a full time
missionary or not you are bringing forth the work of God and helping
children of God come closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
I would like to bear my testimony that I know that this church is
the true church... In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
