Dear Family,
It sounds like everyone is doing really good over there in the
west! Well this week has been good and yesterday was kind of weird. We
have a potential investigator that is on the verge of become an
investigator call us Saturday and wanted to come to church with us
yesterday and wanted a ride. So we asked one of the members that lives
down the street from us if they could pick us up then pick this other
person as well. Well when we picked them person and was heading to
church my companion and I felt really unsettle and uncomfortable
around this lady to the point where we couldn't focus at all during
church (a recent convert of almost a year even recognized that we were
having a hard time paying attention during Sunday School).
During third hour they announced that the relief society was going
to go to the temple in June. Well after church and on the way back to
drop her off at her home she was asking all these questions about the
temple and what we do inside them and what it looks like. We had to
tell her multiple times that the stuff we do in the temple are sacred
but she repeated the same question but with different words. As much
as I love temples and talking about the blessings of temples I was
starting to get really really uncomfortable with this lady. After we
dropped the lady off and she went back inside her house we talked to
the member about how we felt about her and how there was something
about her that made us feel unsettle.
Well the member suggested praying about it and when we got back to
the apartment we prayed about it. We both felt that we needed to talk
to the the recent convert (of almost a year) and possible talk to the
two investigators that are brothers and see what they know about her.
Well it turns out that she lived on the same apartment complex as they
do. By the sounds of they were saying she is one of those people that
is up to no good. We even felt prompted to talked to our District
Leader about it and he told us to follow the spirit and do what we
feel is best. Well after that we felt really prompted to drop her. So
yesterday was really interesting for us.
On another note... On Friday we had a branch talent/karaoke night.
It was a lot of fun and some of the members of the Branch has some
really awesome talents. One of the members and I sung (or karaoked) to
"Let it Go" from Frozen. I will try to send the video to you guys or
at least part of it! One of the members brought their popcorn machine
and made popcorn. It was pretty dang sweet!
On Saturday we went to the General Womens Broadcast. Out here it
starts at 8 because we are two hours behind Utah. It was really good
and I loved how they talked about families and being a defender. But
it's interesting because I am not use to having those kind of things
so late. But I might as well get use to it!!
On Saturday we also got to hang out with one of the members that is
in the ward. We had made little Easter bags for less actives, recent
converts, or investigators. Then this up coming Saturday between
general conference sessions we are going to go out and deliver them
with the same member that helped us on Saturday.
We had a couple of lessons this week. But it was pretty much recent
convert and less active lessons. One of the less actives and her mom
(who isn't a member) came to church yesterday! Missionaries have been
working with these two for a little over 6 months and stated to come
to church yesterday! It was really awesome seeing the two of them
there. Well I hope that all of you had a wonderful week and I love you
all.
Love,
Sister Paige Bluemel
