Dear Family,
Well we found a new investigator this week! So the member that
helps us out a lot (her name is Lori Hinsdale) has a niece that has a
friend (that might have been a little confusing) that lives a couple
of houses done from Lori. Well this friend has shown interest in
learning more about the gospel and wanted to take lessons. We got
permission from her parents to teach her the lessons and they said
Yes.
So yesterday we did this thing where we had a lesson with her,
dinner, and decorated cupcakes. We taught her the restoration and she
acted like she understood all of it and you could feel the spirit. At
the end we were explaining to her about what baptism means in our
church. We invited to be baptized and she said yes. We started talking
about setting up a date for her baptism and the second we started
talking about the date her body language changed and she started
telling us that she didn't want to get baptized and that she belonged
to a different church. We were telling her that she didn't have to
get baptized of she didn't want to. Lori started to talk to her to and
was telling her some of the same stuff we were telling her.
Well she got up and ran out the house crying. We were kind of in
shock and didn't know what to say. Lori told us that we did a great
job and that we didn't do anything wrong. A couple of minutes letter
the girl came back and Lori talked to her for a couple of minutes.
Apparently she got really nervous and she was scared to tell us
because she thought she would hurt our feelings. Lori told her that
she wouldn't hurt our feelings at all. She we had dinner with her and
decorated cupcakes with. We have another lesson with her next Sunday.
On Saturday we pretty much spent the day with Lori. She is starting
this project where she is going to be putting pictures of us doing
missionary work and how we are like everyone else. She is going to be
posting these pictures on social media. She said that she wants to
work on doing more missionary work and helping us out with referrals
so that we can get more people to teach. So we pretty much spent that
day helping her out with that. It was a lot of fun to do and I really
enjoyed doing it!
So the one of the brothers that is investigating the church that I
have talked about previously has a baptismal date. It isn't until
December 20th though. We decided to have lessons with them
individually instead of teaching them both at the same time. So
hopefully we will be able to get the brother that has the baptismal
date ready before then. The brother that doesn't have a baptism can't
get baptized until next year because he is on parole. He can't get
baptized until he is off of parole.
We did have zone training on Thursday which was a lot of fun.
President Anderson (My mission president) came to the zone training!
We talked about planning and finding. The zone leaders emphasized a
lot during the finding part of zone training that we were called to
find our friends that we met when we were in the pre-mortal life.
Other then that not a lot happened this week. I hope that you guys
have a wonderful week and I love all of you! Have a good time at
Trevor and Jen's wedding this weekend!
Love,
Sister Paige Bluemel
